ENSEMBLE HESPERI
bringing forgotten musical stories to your community
Ensemble Hesperi is a dynamic and innovative period ensemble and charity, bringing forgotten musical stories and repertoire to today's audiences. Since 2019, we have forged a strong reputation for championing rarely-heard music of the British Isles, particularly the captivating musical culture of eighteenth century Scotland. Whether performing as our core quartet or with guest artists, dancers, and actors, our performances embody the true spontaneity of chamber music, and welcome our listeners into the ever-fascinating world of the musical past.
"I was hugely impressed by the virtuosity and musicality of these accomplished young musicians, and their boundless energy, their well-researched programmes and their relaxed rapport with their audiences make me sure that they will become an established and admired ensemble in the very near future - another great 'find' by the St Magnus Festival!"
